EOJ TO ASSIST
RADA IN REGISTERING FARMERS
On September 10, 2008 the EOJ in
collaboration with the Rural Agricultural Development
Authority (RADA) launched a drive to register all farmers in
Jamaica. The EOJ was considered because; RADA does not have
the network of offices island-wide that is within easy
access to farmers.
The EOJ currently or in the past has done work for other
government entities and has developed a reputation for
professional work.
Farmers will visit their constituency office or the office
nearest them to be registered. The process involves filling
out an application form and having their photographs taken.
The verification of data collected will take place at a
later date by RADA Extension Officers. Also, The EOJ
personnel will register farmers when they do residence
verification in the field. The information on the
application form will then be entered unto a RADA website at
the EOJ offices.
This exercise is anticipated to finish in one year.
